Since I write romance and erotica, I was thinking about those leading men, the heroes who save the day and wind up with the girl in the happy ever after ending.
Who is your favorite hero? James Bond? Mel Gibson? Bruce Willis? Perhaps Viggo Mortenstern in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, although my favorite movie he stars in is Hidalgo. Viggo can ride! Which is critical to being a real hero in my book. :) Mel can sit a horse pretty well, too, but the entire aura surrounding cowboys has always appealed to me. Of course, a great sense of humor helps too. As far as heroes in popular fiction today, Morelli the cop in Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series is hot, but not as hot as Ranger! He's just so dark and dangerous, the ultimate bad boy we all secretely wanted to date.
Being a writer is like inventing a new world whenever you wish. Since Ojeria's Journey is on its' way down the published road, I have been working on a new story. A time travel, with a musician heroine, and the sexy inventor she winds up with in Edwardian England. Think steampunk with sex with altered history. Corsettes, long gloves, and my imagination is running wild wondering just exactly what the hero has invented in his laboratory!

Walk on the 'Wilde' Side
excerpt from Ojeria's Journey
“Your wars do not concern us," Ojeria said. "In days not so long ago, we hired ourselves out as paid warriors. I went along on both occasions. Short campaigns, good for a young warrior to get a taste of battle.”
“There was also fine looting afterwards,” Ojeria said wistfully, drawing a dagger with a jeweled hilt out of her belt and holding it up for him to examine. Their eyes met. His sparked with an undisguised longing. All thoughts of battle were immediately displaced by the awareness that this was her chance to have a man. Wasbeth should be here soon. Ojeria had often been accused of being impulsive, as if it were a fault. As she dared to look into his eyes again, she thought it was best to take advantage of circumstances that would never occur again.
The sun broke over the mountains, washing the valley in a golden glow of early morning splendor. A shaft of sunlight glinted on the knife. Holding a gleaming knife between them didn’t seem very inviting. She threw the knife in the dirt and leaned closer. Galen responded with a light kiss. As light as dandelion fuzz, his lips tickled and teased hers a few times before trailing down her neck. Ojeria melted under the warmth of his touch, marveling at each sensation. Everything blurred, and she remembered to close her eyes as his mouth came back to hers. He nipped gently at her lower lip. Tentatively, she moved her lips in response. A small moan escaped her as he laid her down and leaned over her.

When I'm not writing or promoting my writing, I enjoy being out in my barn with my horses. I have three registered Quarter Horses, two of them are also double registered Palomino. I have an 'SPCA version' of a Black Lab, who I suspect has some Border Collie in her, she has some of those low to the ground slinky moves, although she also loves to play ball. Three crazy cats and sixteen chickens round out the animal roster here on my little slice of heaven in central New York.
Let's clairfy the term 'New York'. There is a whole state here! I am not from New York City. I did go there once, a couple of years ago. It is far away. The Great State of New York has dairy farms, lakes, waterfalls, the Adirondacks, Catskills, etc. I live near a very deep gorge with many waterfalls, in between two of the Finger Lakes. Wine country!
